The flotilla is a sociable way to sail although you have the freedom of skippering your own yacht during the day. The support of a British lead crew with an educated skipper and hostess. They provide thunderstorm forecasts aiding you on the stylish itinerary. At the same time, they help you to anchor up in the evenings and sort out any queries you may have. We aim to ensure a friendly flotilla outside of 10- 12 yachts sailing with each lead crew. This allows you to visit the small harbors and harbors which make sailing in Greece so special.
People choose flotilla sailing for a variety of reasons. It’s popular with those who appreciate the support of the lead crew but also with those who have sailed numerous times before who enjoy the sociable side of a flotilla and the original knowledge and reassurance that the lead crew give-useful if you’re new to the cruising area. During the academy holidays, flotillas are particularly popular with families who enjoy an active vacation together. Saronic Flotilla from Athens the Saronic Golf islands. This flotilla starts on Saturday from Kalamaki Marina, the main yacht duty marina in Athens, and sails the beautiful Greek islets of the Saronic Gulf, an ideal area for flotilla sailing offering dependable winds of moderate strength, short distances, and scenic harbors. You’ll visit the graphic islets of Aegina, Hydra, Spetses, and Poros as well as landmass municipalities similar to Epidavros with its best ancient theatre.

Athens & Saronic Gulf Islands
Athens & Saronic Gulf Islands is the Saronic islands of Aegina, Poros, Hydra, and Spetses, and the Peloponnese seacoast offers smooth sailing sheltered from strong winds. The Saronic route is largely recommended for easy sailing, especially in July & August to avoid the strong Meltemi winds blowing in the Cyclades. One week the flotilla follows the SARONIC ROUTE. Visit the beautiful island of Aegina and Epidavros, the health resort of Ancient Athenians- the theatre is well worth a visit. Poros is a busy city jetty- veritably popular for a typical Greek night out.
Sailing The Saronic
This region lies east of Peloponnisos. Then you’ll find seductive islets of Aegina, Poros, Hydra, and Spetses, incompletely green and wooded, rugged and incompletely bare. Characteristics are the cypress trees on the hills and the natural gravestone houses with red roof penstocks. The islands have a turbulent history and have been in Turkish, Greek, and Italian hands. The idyllic harbors and kudos on the Peloponnisos are well worth visiting. The average sailing distance in our flotilla from Athens on a day is about 15 to 20 navigational-long hauls. The departure is from the Kalamaki marina in Athens.

Our Athens flotilla starts from Kalamaki Marina in the heart of Athens and cruises among the beautiful islets of the Saronic Gulf. Choose from a huge range of yachts in the Kiriacoulis line and explore the Saronic Gulf led by an educated flotilla commander and visitant. This flotilla sailing vacation is ideal for couples and families who have sailed in the Ionian and want an analogous flotilla vacation in a different Greek position. The Athens flotilla starts from the Kalamaki marina, just 40 twinkles from Athens field.
This sailing area has ideal conditions with steady day breaths. The islets are each veritably different and allow a good day’s passage between them. On this route, there are numerous seductive harbors for late landing. The commander and visitant are on hand to give you help and advice so you get the most out of your sailing vacation.

Our Flotilla in Athens, You Can Join For 1 or 2 Weeks
Saturday is transfiguration day and typically you can board around 1700. After checking in, we can have dinner together. On Sunday morning is the first schmooze and after that everybody starts to sail in direction of the first destination. The flotilla lead crew is Dutch.

Average Temperatures Greece
June till August is the hottest month. In May and September, the temperature is kindly lower, especially at night it can be a little cooler, but the advantage of this time is that it’s less crowded. The water temperature in early spring is about 18 to 20 ° C, in summer 26 ° C to 28 ° C and in autumn it drops sluggishly.
Athens Flotilla Saronic Route

Day 1 (Saturday): Kalamaki Marina, Athens
We pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the marina for embarkation. After you have settled in onboard your yacht, enjoy dinner in the famous Plaka area of Athens with a view of the Acropolis or in a restaurant near the marina.
Day 2 (Sunday): Aegina (21nm)
After the flotilla skipper’s welcome briefing, we sail across to Aegina. Perdika has some of the best sunsets in Greece.
Day 3 (Monday): Poros (14nm)
The name Poros means a narrow strip of sea, and at its narrowest point, the island is only 200m from Galatas on the mainland. The old harbor of Poros has a busy town quay with plenty of restaurants and bars. A popular night out.
Day 4 (Tuesday): Epidavros (21nm)
The health resort of Ancient Athenians. Take a trip to the famous theatre, where the acoustics enable you to hear a pin drop even in the outer seats (74ft from the orchestra).
Day 5 (Wednesday): Vathi (9nm)
A charming small harbor with a choice of tavernas ashore.
Day 6 (Thursday): Nea Epidavros (10nm)
Afternoon sail to this quiet bay for a swim and beach party.
Day 7 (Friday): Kalamaki Marina (29nm)
Stop at one of the anchorages on Aegina for the last swim before returning to Kalamaki Marina. 2-week flotilla clients have free sailing until Sunday evening.
Day 8 (Saturday): Kalamaki Marina, Athens
Disembark at Athens and take your included transfer back to the airport.

Athens Flotilla Argolic Route

Day 1 (Saturday): Kalamaki Marina, Athens
We pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the marina for embarkation. After settling in on your yacht, enjoy dinner in the famous Plaka area of Athens with a view of the Acropolis or in a restaurant near the marina.
Day 2 (Sunday): Poros (29nm)
After the flotilla skipper’s welcome briefing, we sail across to Poros. This busy town quay with plenty of restaurants and bars is a popular night out.
Day 3 (Monday): Ermioni (20nm)
We moor at this typical Greek harbor with bars and restaurants around the town square.
Day 4 (Tuesday): Porto Heli (13nm)
This lagoon offers great shelter. We can either moor on the long quay or anchor in the scenic bay.
Day 5 (Wednesday): Hydra (19nm)
Hydra harbor can get very crowded so we often raft up in peaceful Mandraki Bay and walk around the scenic cliff top into town.
Day 6 (Thursday): Aegina (21nm)
Sail across to an anchorage on the island of Aegina for some of the best sunsets in Greece.
Day 7 (Friday): Kalamaki Marina, Athens (21nm)
Independent sailing for a two-week flotilla. One-week flotilla returns to the marina for a farewell dinner in a local restaurant.
Day 8 (Saturday): Kalamaki Marina, Athens
Disembark at Kalamaki Marina and take your included transfer back to the airport.

Nicola and Seb

Nicola is a commercially supported Yachtmaster Ocean with a wealth of flotilla commander experience. She’s familiar with the greek waters and loves every aspect of sailing life. Seb is the host and has a vast quantum of knowledge and nothing is too much bother. They look forward to working with Nautilus Yachting for the 2020 season.
Flights To Athens
Bonded for your fiscal protection under ATOL 3016 British Airways, Aegean Airlines & Olympic Airlines operate flights from Heathrow to Athens. EasyJet operates flights from Gatwick to Athens. Ryanair operates flights from Stansted to Athens.
Yacht duty rates are shown without flights giving you the inflexibility to bespeak your own flights. Transfers
One return transfer per yacht will be arranged for you once we’ve your flight details. This is included anyhow whether you book flights directly with the airline or through Nautilus Yachting. We’ll meet you at the field and take you directly to the base. The transfer takes 1 hour.
The Most Important Thing To Sail in Greece
Please note that in order to sail in Greece it’s demanded that your commander has a qualification equal to an RYA Day Skipper or advanced. You’ll need to take the original of your sailing qualification with you and won’t be allowed to sail without this.
